A real option has independent fuel. It can create money, trust, proof, or movement without asking the old gatekeeper for permission. It does not have to be big at first. It does have to be structurally different.

Build proof before the emergency

Friends may help. Former colleagues may open doors. That is good fortune, not a system. OMP asks for something more deliberate: public proof, external relationships, transferable language, and one small experiment that can survive outside the company vocabulary.

The lesson is not to leave every stable job. The lesson is to stop treating a stable job as the whole map. The best time to build options is while the main path is still feeding you.
